Add a step

Hello all, I have a question about steps. My trailer has one step but often we find the distanced from the step to the ground is a little much. I've done some searching and found they sell double steps but I'd have to replace the entire unit. Do they sell an add on step that I could use only when I need it or is my only option a complete replacement? And I don't really want to try something like a step stool. I'd rather something solid.

Thanks for the help

I had the same problem with the three steps on my fifth wheel. I bought a portable adjustable step made by Camco. I believe you can order it online from Walmart or Amazon. It works well for us.

Are you a handy person? you can build your own step for less cost than the metal ones if you have materials on-hand

Thanks but I'm way too lazy for that. I did read on here people use an aerobic step that has the add on lifters to adjust height. It's solid and flat. Gonna look into that maybe.

See now that's pretty sweet. They need to sell something like that for a reasonable price. Nice work

How is it secured to the existing step. I can't figure it out looking at the picture.

We carry an "exercise stepper" with us. It is a 3 piece plastic stackable step. The steps are different heights, so you can adjust them to the proper height you need. You can find them at garage sales. Thought I had a picture, but I will keep looking.

They have metal tabs that hook on the rear of the step. Like a "J".
