Thanks Brown. Tough to do it justice, but here's a pic I snapped yesterday.

yes, there are at least two companies that make hybrids with front decks, FR being one of them and KZ the other.
Starcraft used to, until Jayco shut them down.

is it true you need to always have weight on that front deck?

Looking at the 3 Roos that have the front platform, putting weight there seems almost a necessity so it tows decent without sway. The listed dry tongue weights vs. the listed dry weights for those 3 models are 6.8% to 7.5%......far below the recommended minimum of 10%, and many people aim for 12 to 15%.

Hope the back bike rack mod works out for you ScottyNuff. Take another look at it with this in mind. On my Flagstaff a few years back, the weight actually torq'd the tube bumper downward and the frame extensions actually collapsed the tube bumper. And them the hitch and bumper dropped downward. If I had 50 more miles to go, I think the rack would have been dragging the ground.

I love the spare tie idea. I may have to borrow that for the new trailer, except I would use a pickup version and put it under the rear of the trailer.

Hi Kerrlakelover,
I've run it a couple of summers with 3 bikes back there. I actually reinforced the bumper with a 1/4" steel angle iron that ties into the frame.....welded to the tube bumper. I think I could put even more weight back there! :-)
