Finally installed shelves in my Rockwood 2306 pantry. Couldn't be easier -- after all the stressing about screwing into the trailer wall, I just went in with 10x1 1/2" wood screws and it was a piece of cake.
Also switched the way my pantry door opens. Stock it opens "into" the kitchen -- not very convenient. I rotated it 180 deg so that it opens "away" from the kitchen. Much better!

My pantry is right next to the fridge. If I want to do the same is there enough space to put screws there(between the wall and fridge)?
I honestly have no idea how thick the walls are, either on the side or the back. The side walls of my pantry are certainly flimsier than the rear wall, but I'm not sure what that means in terms of thickness. Only one way to find out!

Preformed this pantry modification on my 2013 mini lite 2306. Both walls of the pantry closet are hollow. Wires run through the wall in the rear side for the bunk lights and front side for the range hood fan and to get 120 Volts AC to the microwave. I installed ledger strips on the inside if the cabinet to set the shelf. . The walls are about 1 and 1/2 inches thick on both sides of the door. Really a good modification as food storage space is at a premium in this camper.
Note: closet is not square. Rear wall (outside wall) slants.
We had the same issue with inadequate pantry shelves. While we didn't have to add shelves, the shelves we have are so narrow and deep, we were using only the front half of each shelf. Sourced out "http://www.shelvesthatslide.com" in North Phoenix, ordered three custom sliding shelves and voila! Lost a little in width, but gained more than we lost in length. The folks at Shelves that Slide are fantastic, very helpful. Also removed the pantry door panel and installed aluminum sheeting from M-D Building Products to improve the air circulation. All in all we were pleased with the results.
Very nice modification. Appreciate the pictures. Found that if you took out the dummy walls that access the mechanics you could get more than a box of wet wipes in them. There is a lot of space if the wiring, plumbing and heat ducting were put in more neatly, but it's production. Plan on reworking some of that next season.
The wife was able to get a whole pot and pan set in the cabinet under the sink. Have a daughter that welds for a living. Going to see if she can make me a flat duct with the same internal size as the round hose as this is one of the biggest space pigs under there. I picture rectangular tubing in my head. Kitchen needs storage! Love the camper though.
