Added Smart Tile Backsplash

We added some of the Smart Tile type peal and stick tile to the little bit of wall back splash area in the galley and in the bathroom. The kitchen tiles came from Amazon and the Bathroom tiles from Lowe's.

Looks great.

I would like to do that, never thought of the bathroom. Anyway Hubby brought this up. In our kitchen the refrigerator wall is right next to the stove. Does anyone know if the heat from the stove will be too hot for the tiles. I have not cooked yet but, I can imagine the grease getting on the fake wood.

I have it in the kitchen and the bathroom. Very easy to wipe clean. No problems by the stove so far. I do have a spare sheet just in case.Click image for larger version

Bet that waterfall look is awesome. Sorry. Could not help myself. If you used your phone you probably took it upside down. Phone photos can post kinda bizzar, have a few side ways myself.

We did this, too, in our bathroom, a month or two ago, and just this weekend put a similar product made of natural stone in our kitchen. Very easy to do. Scissors were fine to cut the Smart Tiles, but we did use tin snips to cut the stone tiles, and we'll be sealing the stone tiles before we cook for the first time. Love to see the variations that everyone is doing!

All of these look great!!!

Any update on how the plastic tiles held up? I have heard that they will become unglued in the heat - either from the stove or just from the southern summers.

Also, where did you find the stone tiles and how thick (heavy) are they?

So far have not had any issues with either the stove or oven. Been up now a little over 2 months.

Mine are like Hondamans, I've had them on for a year and a half and am not having any problems.

No issues with either the stone or plastic tiles so far (we put them on in June 2017). We ordered both on Amazon. The stone tiles were Aspect brand (our color selection was "Weathered Quartz"), and we applied sealant since it's behind the stove. The stone tiles are supposed to be 1/8" thick - but it varies a bit, and I would have guessed they're a bit thicker. But we've been thrilled with the results. :-)

I decided to go with the Aspect 3x6 metal tiles that I got from DYI. We're very happy with the results.

I used the adhesive that DYI recommended. Had some issues with the installation on the left wall because it was not properly primed. The back wall was properly primed and the tiles stuck very nicely. Finally managed to get them all stuck - hopefully they will not come off.

I have a mix of smart tiles and the metal tiles in y kitchen at home. The instructions on the plastic tiles were to not put them within so many inches of a stove burner. We have a big gas stovetop set in our counter. So I used metal tiles behind the stove and red plastic tiles over the sink. They look great!
I want to do tiles in the bathroom in the TT, already have some behind the stove but would like more - may use the metal tiles there.
