adding 2nd AC to tbok

I finally bought a 2nd AC to add to our Sabre. I'm very handy, and in 2 minutes took out the lower ceiling vent cover, found the power wire and the control wires. As far as I know,no just need to pull the vent from above, remove caulking, and get the top AC unit in place...

Any tips or advice before I start? Going to do it tomorrow unless it is raining.
Thanks!

It's ducted and wall stat controlled. Factory prepped (not sure why I didn't pay the extra $800 to just have it done....)

as far as sealing, I think it's just the foam and clamped with the four mounting bolts, correct?

Yep that's it.

Well, got it installed and running! Took over an hour, but most of the time was searching the attic cavity for wires, figuring out what goes where with the wiring, and getting the top unit centered. Ran it in the driveway and although it is only 72 f out, I was still impressed with a 40 f discharge temp.
Even ran both 15k AC's st the same time on 30a service. Each unit pulled 12-13 amps while cooling. Pretty happy and appreciate the feedback on here.

I'm doing the same thing next weekend, how hard was it to connect the ducting? Did you have to cut the foamboard to go around the existing ducts? I ordered a penuin II with heat strip. They said I had to have a different thermostat than what was supplied with my sabre, so one of those is coming also. Thanks!

The ductwork was right there, just cut the silver taped ends, and install. I spent some time sealing up any other openings, to keep air in the ducts. Wasn't too bad. Feel free to pm me if you have questions once you get started. For me, figuring out which wires go where took some time.
Good luck
