Adding a access hatch

I have a 2011 Work & Play 30WR Toy Hauler. I wan to add some storage. The trailer has solid fiberglass plywood siding. I want to add a access door on the outside near the bottom of the outside wall. There is some space under the trailer between frame rails that I can use. The access door I would use requires a 4" hole. There is a light steel frame rail that runs the entire length of the trailer. It is being used to screw the siding to the trailer. I will not inerfere with any wall screws. I want to know can I drill a 4" hole though the wall and frame without weakening structure? The frame rail is 5 1/2" angle.

Thanks

I am thinking that ANYTHING you do to the frame will void your warranty. Especially drilling holes in it or welding to it. I would wait until your warranty is up first. Even then I would take a GREAT BIG PAUSE and think this through again. Cutting a giant hole in the web of your frame is a "Bad Idea" in anyone's book.

I'm thinking NO, NO, NO. I have a Work and Play, and foot for foot, compared to anything else, they are very heavy, and while that frame rail may not look like much to you, I guarantee it is there because it has to be. I will also guarantee that is is made of the lightest material that will do the job. By drilling any holes in it, you are going to weaken it, and when the wall of your camper falls off in the middle of the road, I hope no one is hurt.
