Adding Fantastic fan to kitchen area

We have 2013 Columbus 295rl. The new ones come with a fan in the kitchen area. The heat build up in the kitchen/living area gets intolerable in hot weather.

I priced it out with Camping World and they want $1,300.00 for the new fan. That seems high to me.

Anybody added a fan to their 5er and what was the general costs.

Thanks.

Jon

Add a Maxxair to the lite $125 to have it installed, I think the fan with remote was $225 last year.

Is there a vent without fan in the ceiling now? That $1300 sounds way too high unless they have to cut a hole in the roof for it. IMHO I would have it done by a dealer instead of CW.

There is no hole cut in the ceiling or I would install the fan myself.

CW is our local dealer for Columbus Palomino.

I stopped at another local rv dealer and their price was 50% less.

Decessions decessions.

Thanks.

At 50% less it would be an easy decision for me.

Even though you don't have a ceiling vent in the kitchen area, I'm betting that you have one somewhere in the ceiling even if it's several feet away.
Before spending the money to cut a hole in your ceiling, I would install a Fan-Tastic Ceiling Fan in the ceiling vent that you do have. When switched on high, those fans move a lot of air and I'm betting that it would do a good enough job to solve your problem with heat in the kitchen.

I installed a fantastic fan in my 5er bedroom.
I open a bunkhouse window in the rear and turn on the fan in the master bedroom and you wouldn't believe how it cools down the center of the trailer.

Before I start pulling my kitchen fan cover out to check for wires ,can someone tell me if it has power at all the vents? 2011 FR Sierra 355 QBQ (5 total vents only 2 currently have fans in them) bunk room and front bathroom. Thanks for any input

Probably not X2 but you never know. If there are ceiling lights nearby
you might get lucky. I pulled off the trim on my over the bed fanless
vent and found wires going to a light. Tapped into them and installed
a maxxair fan. Haven't blown a fuse yet and it's been 6 years.
The only time I've ever seen all the ceiling lights on at the same time
was at the RV show where we bought it. We've since gone LED on some
ceiling lights so even less load on the wiring.
Pulling off the trim is relatively easy. Do it and have a look!
Good luck!

Thanks for the info I do have a light really close to the one above the door and may try fish tape to get it to the one over the stove. We also started going led ordering another 20 today ( there's a lot of bulbs in here).
