Another thermostat replacement question
I want to replace the Coleman-Mach thermostat in our 2010 Windjammer 3065W with a Honeywell RTH1100. It's a battery powered, digital, non-programable thermostat.
I have read threads on several RV forums, including forest river forums, and I get conflicting schematics for the wiring. Some say not to use the RED wire on the new thermostat while others say not to use the BLUE wire.
Here is how both say to wire the new thermostat:
Option 1:
Red - not used
Yellow - Y
White - W
Green - Rh/Rc
Gray(lo fan) - G
Blue(hi fan) - G
Option 2:
Red - Rh/Rc
Yellow - Y
White - W
Green - G
Gray - G
Blue - not used
It is suggested that I choose one fan wire, "G" , to connect to the thermostat unless I wire in a dpdt switch.
Has anyone done this upgrade that can advise me?

I think this is because of one of two things. Without a schematic in front of me, the old orig. thermostat has a orange power wire (may have been red) of like 7 volts or so; you tape that one up, and don't use it, because the new one uses it's own battery. Also, at least on mine, the old thermo had a "hi and low" switch for 2 speed operation, that the new one may not have. I THINK if I remember right that LOW was a brown wire, and blue was high. I used blue, and it is recommended. Hope this helps! Randy
