We built a deck about door level and have been very happy.
It seems to make the camper much larger because the deck became like another room.

Much easier than going up and down than the steps to the trailer.

I built one for mine and since added on when we bought a larger trailer. Built ours near ground level and steps from deck to entry doors. Much safer and no need for railings around the deck. Mine is in 3 - 8X10 sections. Framing is 2X8 but I over did it there. 2X6's will suffice. Just leveled it with patio blocks.

this is the deck that i built for our unit at a seasonal site. the deck is 5' X 8' and is level with the bottom of the door. i had to be careful with height because i had to get a county permit. (over a certain height and it would have to be child proof ...a railing that they couldn't fall thru ! its 28 " high ! also built a ground level deck for the table and chairs and grill.

The wife and I built a deck on our camper 2years ago I built it the entire length of our camper 30 ft one thing we did was make it a multy level deck the front half is at door height the back half is 8 inches lower it holds our table and chairs and grill the upper half has 2sitting chairs and a small cabinet between them I put in 2 sets of steps one in front and one in back and we built a cotinuouse railing the entire length of it as well as railings for each set of steps we designed the deck and the railings I will post pictures when I get them downloaded

Our deck is at ground level because of the awning.

I like the deck off the ground a few inches so it stays dry under the deck then built wood stairs into the camper
