Yes - that will work for hitching purposes if you have a TT. But in my case with having a FW you have to lower the tail gate in order for the king pin to not hit the tail gate. So all you are seeing is the ground/pavement.

BTW - our Ram does have a back up camera system installed and it's great for most things, but it is still a two person task to hook up our FW

On the after market monitors that I've seen they have two video inputs. I don't know if the Ram OEM monitor does. If it does you could place another camera in the truck bed and add a switch inside your cab to give the camera the 12 volt power.

Yeah I guess that could work. However after spending $50+ for the truck and the DW and I have a routine worked out when hitching up that works for us with the tail gate down, I don't think I will do it it.

Good idea though.

Thanks Browne I bought every thing from Amazon.co Spent around $90.00 for every thing.I wish I kept the box's that every came in Just do a search for a 7" monitor and a 1" round camera It comes with a 17' RCA cable But it was not long enough for my pick up so I ordered a 25' RCA cord The monitor comes with 2 mounts. Hope this helps

My RCA cable was also not long enough, I used a RG6 coax and crimped RCA jacks on the ends. I have a quad cab with a long bed, my FIL ordered the same camera and his RCA cable was JUST long enough, he has a quad cab with a short bed.
