Arrrggg... Removed heat wrap, believe it was just covering twisted wires - removed, stripped and retreated wires, attached ground wire... Still nothing. Did discover that black cable is evidently coming from camera...RCA plugs are dangling from cord descending from connection with monitor. Checked fuse in little black box..it still looks ok.

The system should have a menu button either on the monitor or a remote control or both. If so, when u push the menu button do u see anything on the monitor? If not, either no power or monitor is bad (assuming there is no "multiplexer") A multiplexer would probably be in the area where u found the wires and the cable from the camera and the monitor would attach to it. If the 2 cables connect to each other, than no multiplexer. I have a 2011 Lexington and recent back up camera failure was a blue screen, menu worked, ended up being the camera. My system does not have a multiplexer.

I think you nailed it here... We confirmed power to the cable connected to the monitor... It is not responding to any buttons. So now to find out if our monitor is replaceable, I expect.... Or install a new system. Thanks John for your patient attention... And thanks to all for helping its trouble shout this. In the process I found three fuse boxes, learned how to remove the dash panel, and will now explore the utility of a rearview mirror in a class C...
