battery box - 6 volt batteries
is anyone aware of a single battery box that can handle dual 6 volt batteries and still fit in the front battery tray of a travel trailer??? (the end-to-end type of box)
I've seen lots of battery boxes on-line and none would be able to fit a standard 6 volt battery tray without signifiant modification.
I have a feeling that when I switch my single 12 volt out, I'll put one of these on the front ( Dual Battery Box for RV for Sale ) and have a buddy weld a steel plate to the frame to help support the box. That or go with my original idea of putting one of those toolboxes on the front and just put the batteries in there. I've had a couple of really good photos of what I want..just a matter of getting it done before season starts for me.

Dual 6 Volts that's the TICKET!
Powered the camper nicely. Ran radio all afternoon, the lights, water pump, heater (low's hit 35 and camper stayed 60), CPAP - all night, and the inverter for a movie (which ran the 22" TV). The batteries needed "topping off" with the generator in the morning, but that was a lot of usage for one charge! (I'm no electrician so can't get technical).
