Battery questions: Trojan VS Crown

I am about to buy 2 6V batteries.

Trojan has a new (?) T105 RE - said to be made for renewable energy like solar. Would this one be a better choice for me, than the 'normal T105' ?

Also the dealer is recommending a Crown CR-225 - more or less the same specs as the Trojan and a tad less expensive.

Any recommendations ?

Thanks,

The T-105RE is a little beefier at 67lbs vs the T-105 at 62lbs, which is important because greater weight means more lead (generally). One potential problem is the greater height of the T-105RE at 11 3/4" vs 10 7/8".

I've used Trojan 12 volts in the past and was happy with the battery. I've not used Crown batteries. It looks like the CR-225 has the same capacity and reserve and is 1lb more than the regular T-105 so it should be close if not better. I would go with that if the price is significantly less than the Trojan's.

Or consider the larger T-125 size batteries if you want to give yourself more reserve.

I'll also add that I think the biggest practical difference (besides height and weight) between the regular Trojan and the RE is lifespan, warranty and cost. The RE is supposed to last longer, has a longer warranty and is $20 more.

I spoke with someone at Trojan awhile back and that is what I remember.

Thanks for this, I'll stick with the T105s - as I noticed the posts are different on the T105-RE, I do not want to change my existing connectors.

I just need to get a cable to connect the two batteries together now.
