Best Mod ever! Power Landing gear!
Bought a power Landing gear kit Off ebay brand new for 130 bucks shipped. Came with everything I needed for install including wiring harness and switch. Installed in less than a hour. I couldn't be happier! Just got tired of cranking forever to raise or lower my rig. I always had to switch arms because it was such a workout.

That's what I use, just curious in case I run out of things to spend money on.

Never thought of using a drill. I cant find the listing. I watched the listing for a few monthes before I bought mine. A couple times when they were out of stock the listing disappeared but always returned when there were more available. I'll keep an eye out and post it on here when I find it. I bought mine a few monthes ago. It just now got warm enough outside to install it.

Are you talking about the tongue jack?

I think he was talking about the tongue jack. No drill I know of will operate that, but drills can work well on many stabilizer jacks. I'm lazy and have power jacks all the way around on my rig. Congratulations on your new install.

If you look at his avatar, he has a 5er, so it is not a tongue jack but landing jacks he's talking about.

Never owned a 5 th. My bad, not sure how they set up but I thought you raise or lower using a tongue jack instead of stabilizers. Excuse my ignorance here.

He clearly states "power Landing gear..." nothing about stabilizer jacks or tongue jack.

Ground Control jacks was my favorite and most enjoyed mod. It is great to stand beside the trailer and level it with a remote wireless pad. Can take the tires off the gound if I want to.

Sorry for the confusion. I was referring to the landing gear on my 5th wheel. Not sure a drill would have enough power to run it. Unless my gear just needs a lube job.

Most landing gears have a 3 or more to 1 gear box and once you disconnect the motor, a drill SHOULD be able to lift the camper. Glenn Jurczyk gave me a practically new set and it would lock up when it was about 1/2 way extended. Ended up having to take both sides completely apart and put the long screw in a lathe and run a fine toothed bastard file over the entire length of the threads and a knife file in the threads to remove the imperfections. They both run extremely smooth now the complete length of threads. Make sure you lube the entire length of the threads.

Did Glen ever use the zerk to grease the landing gear?

Wouldn't have made any difference one way or the other, the threads were lubed as was the nut for about a foot, there were just a lot of burrs/nicks, etc the complete length of the threaded rods. That was the first thing I did when I took it apart was smear grease the complete length of the thread. Ended up having to clean all the grease off and put them in the lathe and do the dual filing.

I have so much to learn. Never heard of that term except on my airplane. It doesn't retract with a drill. Fifth wheelers are a different breed although I may own one some day. That's cool stuff. My landing gear does have zerk fittings though, greased once every year at annual inspection!
