Bike rack

I am thinking about u bolting a piece of 2" square tubing to the frame in between the bumper and the RV. Then welding a receiver to that and u bolting it to the bumper just for added support. Then will put a receiver hitch bike rack on the back. Do y'all think just the u bolts will be strong enough to support the rack? Can't weld it because still under warranty.

The tubing will be about 6 foot long and bolt to both frame supports. Sorry forgot to put that in other post

mstell2, do a "bike rack" search on the forum. Hauling bikes on the rear of a trailer has been discussed many times here. Taking weight off of the tongue, bike movement, rack or weld failure, are among many things gone over. The consensus is that there are better places to carry bikes.

Why not put it on the tongue... will add a little tongue weight, but that isnt such a bad thing since you want a little more weight up front.
