Decided to make what I will call an investment ( its pricey)in an Arvika bike rack. We just travelled about 1500km from Kingston, Ontario, to Cavendish, PEI and it worked quite well with 4 bikes.

Like those but did not want to pay the price. Since i only put 2 bikes the setup I use works good. Guess it would be possible to modify for 4 but then you probably would have almost as much in it. Like yours with 4 bikes looks good.

I like it! DW was talking about taking the bikes with the tt. I tried to explain how to carry them on the front and she couldn't wrap her head around the idea. The picture would explain it a lot better.

This set-up works out great for us. My husband is 6'5" so he's the one who gets the bikes off the Tahoe.
By the way, this was our first outing in our Cruise Lite 241 just this past week. We had a blast.

Factory hitch

Our 5er came with a 1 1/4 in receiver hitch bolted on the rear to the frame. I used it on one trip this summer to carry our two bikes. What a mistake, the bikes bounced so much it damaged the back of the camper. I tried ever thing to try to control it from bouncing. I am now in the process of getting that hitch removed and have a heavier 2 in receiver installed. On our last 5er I had a 2 in receiver welded to the frame and I towed a boat with no bounce or problems. If you are going to mount a hitch make sure it is to the frame not the bumper and have it done by a hitch shop. One last thing, remember why all kids want to ride in the back of the bus on a bumpy road.
