What does "semi-automatic" mean?

You're like going to have to ask them. The manual leveling is obvious- you'll get some kind of joystick to level the motorhome. But the difference between automatic and semiautomatic is non-obvious.

What I have read in other post is the semi-automatic levels only front and back. The automatic uses all 4 jacks that level front, back and side to side . We currently have the platinum system (semi-automatic ) and we just use the manual function of this system.

I have the fully automatic and so far have been happy with it, it can be used manually if necessary.

The semi-automatic only levels front to back, then you have to manually level side to side.

I went for years without any kind of leveling jacks and got quite good at counting pieces of wood.

Any of the Bigfoot systems will work and it is a good system, it will come down to which one you want to spend the money on.

Aaron, do you have issues with the tires coming off the ground if the site is really unlevel? I heard this happens with the automatic.

Yup... first time at home. Any of the BigFoot systems is capable of pulling the wheels off the ground if the site isn't level enough to start with. I did it at home the first time I used them in my old parking site. I checked and one corner was almost 16" low. I never realized the ground around here was that far off level. Nothing I couldn't fix with a backhoe.

The new game plan is to use an app on my cell phone or a small level I keep in the drawer to check the camper when we pull into the site to see just how far off level it is. If it is bad enough I will use Lynx Levelers under the wheels to get it close then fine tune it with the Big Foot system. Some campgrounds are better than others. and you just have to pick and choose if you can.

We camped at the local state park back in the late fall with our little 16' Coleman, the site we were on was bad enough that I actually had to dig a hole for the tongue jack to sit in to get level on the site. Obviously that site would not have worked with my current rig.

Just as an added note, you can pull the wheels off the ground using manual method too, if you don't let go of the buttons in time. If a site looks really uneven I will use manual rather than automatic so I can go slow and keep an eye on things. Automatic doesn't necessarily equal better in some cases.
