Built in sewer hose storage issue

If you have a new FR product that has the sewer hose built in left side of unit behind storage compartment door and a Rhino Flex hose.

HERE"S THE PROBLEM!

FR's tube is 4" dia------ Rhino Flex is 4 1/4" dia

Solution:

Went to a local RV dealer and bought a new sewer hose door assembly and modified it to attach it to a 5"X5" PVC post cover with aluminum angle, pop rivets, silicone, and of course duct tape.

Will have to wait for Spring to install due to another 5er stored to close.

Just keep it in a latching tote in the back of the TV, save hacking up your Camper

If I can't "Hack it;" I don't want it.

Check out "Make" Magazine some day.
They can "hack" anything.

racedaymechanic: I did not " HACK " anything. If you would read my original post and look at the first picture you'll see the sewer hose door and tube are already in the side of the trailer. All that was done is a new replacement door with a larger tube with a tray was installed in place of the smaller one. Nobody hacked anything.

Mark: The tray is actually a PVC rain gutter that came from Lowes. The wooden ends and divider are siliconed in to prevent water from running out.

Calm down, The first picture showed a Door with a tube above the HW Heater, the second shows it in the side compartment, Obviously in different spots on the camper

I want to apologize. I sometimes forget that terms mean different things to different people. To "hack" something is not neccessarily a bad thing.

A "hack" is making something meant to do one thing, do something else that you want it to do. Hack's can be quite eligant and eminently functional.

I am trying to put a similar mod on a Solera, I was planning to place it under the chasis. but I only have about six inches of ground clearance and I am worried that is not enough.

Did you run into any obstruction inside the RV or is your mod not the full length of the fence post?

Thanks
