I have found that the bumper caps more frequently vibrate off when the bumper is supporting a spare tire or a bumper mounted hitch receiver. Anything on those bumpers cause flexing and works out the bumper plugs. Prior trailers I had the plugs always worked themselves out and the bumper was at minimum supporting a spare tire. My current trailer has nothing on the bumper and the plugs never come loose

hey oldcoot, should we clip the coat hanger or let it drag? Just kidding. My brother did that very thing. I just find the shiskabob skewer looks a lot classier and a little uppity. lol

camper1999, You may have something there. My old Jayco with spare mounted in front never lost a cap but my Wildcat 5er and now the Rockwood 5er both work loose. They have bumper mounted spares. Hummmm.

I only drilled the hole in the top and then used a stainless steel cotter pin. It's small and has worked great so far.

My 2011 Flagstaff has a small nipple on top of the cap that matches up with a hole in the bumper. Seems to work great. Have not lost a cap with this trailer, but quite afew with previous rig.

I've seen those. Probably the best out there.

My RhinoFlex 15 foot Swivel RV Sewer Kit, does not fit into my rear bumper, so I am going to have put a 6 inch PVC pipe under my RV with caps. Trying to find a place that sells the 6 inch pipe, near Montreal,Quebec, Canada.

I used a 5" PVC fence post cover and was able to find them at the big box hardware stores.
