I think I remember that photo! Why I don't have it in the Herkbrary is a wonder!
Let me see what I can find.

OK, lots of references TO the sticker, but no photo that I can find. MAX 150 pounds located within 6 inches of the bumper is all these references said the sticker stated.

IE JUST the spare tire and carrier. Period.
Bike racks are just too far out.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and pics showing how yo solved the problem of taking bikes while pulling a 5'er. I looked into a frame mounted hitch on the 5'er, but it would void the warranty. a front mounted receiver hitch was my next thought, but the bikes on the rack would block headlights. I measured for the kingpin mounted receiver, but the clearance between the bikes and truck was a little tight. So, I have just picked up the Yakima parts to modify an old rooftop rack from our first pop-up to fit the cab of the truck. I hope to get it installed this weekend.

Again, many thanks to all who chimed in with advice, and stories from their own experiences. I can only imagine the problems I could have cause for myself were it not for this online community!

BTW-we have a 2012 Wildcat 312BHX-OK pulled by a 2009 Chevy 2500 HD CC 4X4 with a pull-rite slider.

I contacted Hollywood about their bike racks and using them on any type of towed vehicle and this is the response I got:" Here is our trailer warning:

TRAILERED VEHICLE ISSUES

Any trailer or trailered vehicle (including 5th wheel type) has a slight side to side motion that's very low frequency (1 to 1-1/2 times per second) that fatigues the steel from which the racks are manufactured.

The fatigue first happens at a molecular level, but eventually (several thousands of cycles later) a visible crack will appear. Once the crack has formed, it will enlarge, finally to the point where the rack drops off the vehicle and the rack (and bikes) impact the roadway.

This is also a dangerous situation for whoever may be following the trailer on the highway.

We have seen 100+ incidents where the consumers/end user has not taken this advice and suffered disastrous results.

I've even had phone calls from consumers who said they read that advice (do not use on a trailer) and ignored it, only to discover a tragic end result.

So . . . don't do it. If you insist on doing it regardless of the above, please use some other companies’ rack.

Regarding what could happen if you ignore that warning, you could put people who happened to be following you on the highway or road when the rack does break in
great danger.

Best Regards,
Hollywood Racks"

Last night I installed a Yakima bike rack on the roof of our truck. The rack was originally on our first pop up, but was easily modified to fit the truck by changing out the towers. The fit is great and we can safely transport the bikes on camping trips.

My factory bumper tore at the welds just from having the spare tire and a three bike rack. Almost lost all my bikes while traveling through New Orleans. I had to pull over in a less than desirable location of New Orleans east to remove the bikes and put them into the 5th wheel for the remainder of the trip home. After that i removed the factory bumper and had a aluminum hitch basket made that is bolted through the frame. Much sturdier and now i have extra storage.

Nicely done. I am also looking into a rack similar to that in style. What are your dimensions?
