is it just on older vehicles where if you upgrade to led taillights you have to get a new flasher to run them?
and yes, i would rather see a new flasher than an old flasher (gender appropriate for me anyway). just beating somebody here to the punch (ron)

straight running lights, not turn.
The blinker on the LED tail work fine. I have all LED on my boat trailer and they work fine too. Not sure of the Ford came with electric resister (doubt it for an 03) but never had any problems with that.

IMHO, LED lights should be standard equipment on all trailers. Upgraded our rig (4 x 4-1/2 round light) several months ago for $80, found them at Northern Tool. Makes a real difference on the road.

I could not agree more. Boat trailers have made the switch to LED.
And yes, the true benefit in my eyes is how much more visible they are in low light situations and during the day. I noticed my wife getting closer to the trailer than I liked following me one day. She commented how the brake lights were not very noticeable in daylight.
I will try to get some pics when I pull it out of storage next week to give a better idea.
All together, probably the best mod I will ever do.

Trailer lights should not need a resister unless your blinkers flash fast when 1) you have a burnt out trailer bulb or 2) you unplug your trailer from the connection.
I am thinking about using the Bargman. So far, my TV has All LEDs in the rear except the plate light. The Stop/Tail (Red) and Turn (amber) are carry overs from my old vehicle. I just installed a bulb in the 3rd Brake Light (The incandescent burnt out) and reverse lights. I went with the brightest white LEDs I could find. OMG, what a SUPER difference. I will try and post a picture.
