As for *camper* carpet- I didn't even know you could dye it. IMO, it's such cheap carpet, that I'd consider replacing it before the expense and work of dyeing it.

I don't know about *camper* carpet but when I lived in an apartment complex the landlord would dye the capet to cover up dirt spots. Several of my neighbors ended up with blue-ish gray socks from walking without shoes on their dyed carpet. This was an ongoing issue for them.

Im am a flooring installer and also did alot of cleaning.
Dying is one bad idea. For little spots it is ok
Tore out some flooring that was dyed it will fade and get into your padding .
Carpet Is somewhat cheap.Find remnant a to replace might be cheaper

DW likes a camper with little to no carpet. So we would never dye it.

unfortunately all the slide floors always have carpet, since it helps cover the transition between the floor surfaces. Just stinks you use such low quality carpet, but would you expect any different. Replacing is probably not easy, since furniture is built on top of it and front edges need to be bonded.

You have 4-6 screws per piece of furniture. It's not that hard to remove and do the job right. If you have issues that prevent you from doing this work (many of us do) hire somebody to do it for you. Doing it piece-meal or half way will only leave you disappointed.
