Center Support for Awning

Does anyone use these and if so, do they really help? Any experience with the awning supports with the locking mechanism?

I had used both in the past on a long manual awning and they worked great. Was thinking about it with the new Rv, but not sure how the extension arm would be with the power awning. Definitely getting the top support again.

Center support in the (up) towing position is a good thing for (long) roller tubes. Lots of movement in the center of the tube, hard on the end supports going down the road. Center Cradle supports can be used on manual or auto type. Youroo!!

My 2012 5th Wheel has a 20' awning. I asked the dealer about this support and they told me that you cannot use with auto type awnings. They said the electric motor did not have enough torque to pull the awning off of the support. I would have to pull the roller off the support by hand each time then use the elect motor to finish unrolling. I decided not to install. Let me know if it will work with auto awnings.
