does anyone know what the differences are between the older 2000w 73531i Champion and the newer 73536i 2000w Champion?

if memory serves me correct the 73531 is the original model that had a breaker and no 12v outlet. the 36 had the breaker removed and had the software modified to increase the load time before it tripped giving a little more surge power......there is also a 37 and 38 model ...there was the original yellow with silver legs which was the 31, the yellow with the black legs which was the 36 and of course the all red costco version, the grey northern tool version, and an all black version with the usb power outputs......they are all internally the same, but i think there was some variation in ratings based on the circuit rating....some were 1600/2000 and some were 1700/2000......of course the lower number was only for like 8 minutes and the surge rating was for like a second...that is the only real difference compared to a honda....it will run its lower rating for like 30 min......

on another note, i picked up a 6 gal marine tank and im gonna see how it fares as an aux tank and ill let ya know!

wow...i have been following that thread sice day one.....all hundred pages of it....most everything i know about these units is due to the profs work.....i can honestly say i didnt EVER remember him posting an aux tank setup post.....none the less, thanks as that will make parts acquisition and trial setup so much easier!!

sorry this has gotten off topic, but im sure some of the ideas for the 2000i can/should be applicable to the 3100....i dont have a 3100, but if someone wants to donate a test unit, i'd be happy to figure something out....LOL

Excellent re-direct. Looks like the Hondas will work best for Laura and I.
The Yamaha will be dedicated to emergency use for family members without power. Time to reprogram some money to the new Honda's.
