it says "Inverter" on the side.
it has sold on Amazon, for as low as $650.

That was the pull start version. This is the updated remote start unit.

Can anyone tell me if the noise level claims for the various "quiet" generators are standardized? This Champion says 58dBA @ 23 feet. OK, but is that at idle, 1/4 load, full load? Honda's EU2000i says 59dBA @ rated load, 53 dBA at 1/4 load, but doesn't give a distance.
Can those values be compared fairly?

No. Your comparing a 2000 with a 3000. Here is Honda's spec for their equivalent unit.

What I was really asking was whether the claims were made at the same distance using the same method.

To my knkwledge honda does not list their distance spec as does champion...and some others list other distances so it makes it confusing for comparison purposes. ...

Damn that sucker is heavy 110 lbs. Think I'll stick with my 2 Champion 2000 watt gens. Electric start is nice but would need a crane to load and unload it .

Yeah... I bought a Champion 7kw generator, and while it's unbelievably awesome and has the remote start, it's really loud and weight like 230 pounds. I have to bring a ramp just to get it in and out of the bed of the truck. I carry it in the trailer when not carrying too many toys.

Been comparing the Champon 73536i 2000 watt inverter with paralleling kit.
It compares favorably with the Honda 2000i (and the new 73540i has a USB charger built in to boot). A bit over 10 pounds heavier though; but a few hundred bucks cheaper. Amazon.com: Champion Power Equipment 73536i 2,000 Watt 4-Stroke Gas Powered Portable Inverter Generator (CARB Compliant): Home Improvement
Still looking for a two generator extended run kit for them. Waiting for an answer from Berg. Right now the Hondas are in the lead if I can't find a dual feed kit.

I'll admit I have only used them 3 or 4 times. I will be using them for 4 days next weekend. If you find a off the shelf extended run setup please let me know.

Ahh yes...I couldent remember what tank he used as it was specifically NOT for the champs. ..it was a MARINE tank...I have been toying with the idea for one as well for the twins, but thus far have managed without being too terribly bothered by the current run time...if u do it, do a write up and performance eval!....thanks
