Change Front Enclosed Window to Screen-Capable...?
Hello to All!
I have a 2014 Coachmen Clipper 17FQ and it has an enclosed window--unable to be opened in any way from the inside--covered on the outside by a louver-able plastic shade on the front wall of the trailer.
My question is: Has anyone with this or a similar model TT with this type of window ever changed it out so that it can be opened with a screen on one half or even a full-louvered window to have a full screen?
I would love to open this window up at night to get a nice cross breeze as it really gets stifling toward the back of the bed (front wall of the TT).
Just curious how easy and/or how expensive doing this would be?
Take some accurate measurements of your fixed window. Then google up "rv windows" or "rv replacement windows"
I did for the heck of it and dozens of sites, suppliers came up. I'm sure you could find one to fit your opening.

My guess is that you will end up with at least some kind of water incursion problem if you do this. Running in the rain will force water anywhere and everywhere that's not completely sealed, and that's why at present it's a solid window and not able to be opened.

Thanks for the reply re: this--what you say makes very good sense. I also thought that maybe the designers were thinking that any large rock or boulder flying at this may cause further damage.
I may still give the one company a call, get their input and see what they say. It sure would be nice to have a breeze coming through that window at night.
