changing the bed
Our Cedar Creek has a king size bed and it takes up too much room. We'd love to change it to a queen size. Is that possible or has anyone done it???

Wow! The fact that it is a King size is one of the reason we bought a 36 CKTS. Are you sure that you want to go smaller?

What width is the bed base? I'm guessing that the bed base remains the same and they just change the top to 72" wide from 60".

We went from a queen to a standard and left the platform alone. Still gives us more room as the platform is not the full width of a queen mattress.

Does the bed base move in/out with the slide?
If you're really handy you should be able to reduce the width of the bed base and mattress base to accommodate queen size...more complicated if the base moves with the slide but doable.

If it's like ours, you could just make a new narrower platform for the base. Ours hangs over the base about 3" or 4" all around.

Hubby not too handy now at 86 but bed does move in and out with slide, we would have to cut the board on the bottom to accomodate a queen, a larger project than he can do But thanks

I removed the factory queen the day it showed up in the driveway, put in a pillow top, weights a lot more but I don`t care, it was a pain to get it down the stairs and around the corner to the door
