I got a cheep 45 dig. Hook it up to the TT... I guess you could hook it up to the other end but my sewer hose kit I bought 5 years ago came with a 90 that fits into the CG sewer or dump station...

Get the one that goes on the trailer's outlet. I use the 90 degree one.

I prefer the 45 and have it attached at the trailer. I have the elbow facing the cg drain. It does not face down but points to the rear of the trailer.

I don't think it matters too much whether you use the 45 or 90 degree clear elbow. Here's a pic.

I use the 45° clear one attached to the trailer and leave it there with a cap on it so I can see if there is something in the discharge before taking the cap off and can be prepared with a bucket to catch it.

Only think of things like that after being surpised one time and having to clean up a mess. Actually 2 messes, one from the surprise and one from me! I can see a mess, but if I get a whiff of it, instant reaction from the stomach.

Do you leave it on going down the road? That 's a good idea...

It is on all the time, either with a cap on it for going down the road or with the slinky attached ready to dump. I never take the clear elbow off.

This is also exactly what I do. I don't like to be surprised when I take the cap off.

That clear piece did not work well for me.
The water hose part snapped off the first time I used it.

Man, this is scary, I was going to say the same thing...
My elbow stays on the trailer, I like to see what's coming out, just in case.

Getting the clear elbow was one of the great tips I discovered reading a forum like this and doing a lot of youtube surfing...

Can I make a somewhat embarrasing admission? I figure I'm among friends here... plus I haven't posted my full name or address so I'm feeling nice and safely unknown.

People who don't 'get it' might think that clear connector is 'gross'. Since getting the connector, dumping the tank has become the #1 most fun thing about camping. (well, sort of...)

My family all stands around to watch the poo parade when we dump the tank. I swear it must be better than the x-box. Kids 'ooh' and 'ahh' over watching what comes out of that tank. And if we use the tank cleaner, it's like the superbowl went into OT. I even hear bets among the boys as to how long it will take until the water runs clear.

That clear elbow went from nobody wanting to touch that valve to the boys fighting over whose turn it is. Best $10 gadget yet for the TT!

Whew, it's nice to unburden myself among people who understand!

Forgot to mention that I have 2 screws in the elbow to make sure it doesn't come off or loosen. I can remove the screws if necessary to replace anything.

Too funny. We have forensic scatologists trying to determine who owns what one.

I wish I could say the same, I'm still the only one back there for dump time.

That's funny what arlee said.

At my age (nearly 60), I find it interesting to watch... Is that weird or what?

It's amazing when you think about how large the solids can be that go into the toilet and what happens when it comes through the clear elbow. Somehow it all comes out the tank every time. It's amazing! Makes me want to do the black tank dumps in slow motion....

Dumping the gray tank is sooo boring in comparison.
