Closet Slide Door mod on Flagstaff 27RLWS

In our Flagstaff 27RLWS closet slide with 2 sets of doors in the bedroom, it was useless to try to gain access to the forward part of the closet due to the way the forward set of doors opened and the proximity of the bed.
One door opened into you and you had reach around the door or get on the bed to gain access to that forward section.
I ended up taking both doors off the forward set, installed a piano hinge were both doors previously met when closed, reinstalled the now one set of bi-fold doors using the forward hinges only (plus added 2 more identical hinges on that side for the added weight) making the forward set of doors a bi-fold that folds forward allowing easy access to that end of the closet slide.
(FYI: I used existing hinges that I found on cabinet doors that were not suppose to our unit they hinged those doors and used a hinge on the bottom to prevent accidental opening. Now have installed catches for those.)
I left the knobs and catches in the same position as well as the aft set of hinges on the frame opening.
Now when you close the bi-fold door, it butts up to the aft hinges that are left unused on the frame on the opening side and latch in the middle where the existing catches are. Just push the middle of the doors to secure to the catches or pull one of the 2 knobs to open the doors.
Plus you can't tell it's a bi-fold until you go to open it thus it matches the other doors in that slide
Works great and so far nothing has opened while travelling............just an idea that worked for us...

It is still only an 'idea' unless you post pictures.

Closet Slide Door mod on Flagstaff 27RLWS Pics

Here's some pictures of my modification to the closet slide that I should have shown when I first posted the thread:
1st shows it closed and matches as it was designed.... the head of the bed is to the right.
The closet door shown to the left is accessible as designed because the foot of the bed ends with enough room to open and gain access.
2nd shows it bi-folded as well as the original hinges still in place on the face of the frame.
And last, the placement of the piano hinge as well as the 2 added hinges for strength. There is one hinge at the bottom that is out of view.
Again, as I stated in my original thread, catches were left in they're original positions and latch securely.

Great post and great mod! I know this will help others with the same problem. Most of us rv'ers are pretty good with tools and doing mods.
Happy Camping!!
