An rv queen (also called a short queen) is indeed shorter top to bottom than a regular queen. We found a 3" short queen memory foam topper on eBay that works great, but lots of other places have them, too. Just be sure you buy a short queen and not a regular one (you can cut down a regular queen topper, but why make extra work for yourself?).

Had a regular queen size joke of a "mattress" they include, it was quickly replaced with a household Queen size mattress we got for about $300, pillowtop and all.

We were told our queen mattress was a queen short, which is advertised around 60"x74 or 75". Our "back breaker" was 60"x72", which is for sleeper sofa's. After throwing it in the trash, we found a replacement, memory foam mattress, added a 3" topper and it's very comfortable now. My feet still overhang, but DW can get to her side of the bed.

Coachmen Queen Bed

Put a standard queen 3" memory foam on top of your short queen mattress, then use standard queen extra deep sheets. Extends the bed in limited space.

We put a 3 inch foam topper on ours. Trimming it to fit the rv queen is easy with an electric knife.
