counter extension

Has anyone come up with a way to mount counter top extension using hinges instead of the solid L-brackets so you can leave the extension in place & just fold it down when not in use? Those of you with Windjammers & some Ultra Lite models will probably know what I'm talking about. If so, how do you hold it in place while folded down to keep it from swinging when on the road?
Would appreciate any info. (youroo, I know you're watching)
Thanks

I used two six dollar L brackets that lock up and a bamboo cutting board. Sorry for the blurry pic, too much beer. Lol
