Cut your heat from the shower skylight
Being the shower in the 8285WS gets really hot from the skylight (does here in the hot summer sun), I found a "FIX" for the heat in the shower.
Went to Lowe's, purchased "GILA" Platinum window film. Removed the skylight from inside the shower (not the one on the roof) Applied the film to the bottom side of the shower skylight, the stuff rejects 99% of UV rays, is LOW-E (helps retain winter heat) Helps block heat and glare.
After installing the film, it reduced the glare and heat tremendously.

May sound dumb but if you removed the inside part what is the bottom side?

I think he means the bottom or inside side of the outer layer. confused. sound sensible when i wrote it.

Stop the heat in the shower on the 8285ws
I think you got it right about what I removed ?? It is the part that is on the ceiling in the shower. It has a clear, flat plastic (maybe Lexan ??) window in it. I applied the film to the bottom side of the clear flat plastic, carefully trimming the film to fit just the clear flat window. You can still see through the window as if nothing has been applied. But what a difference it made in the shower/ bathroom. the procedure has reduced the heat by at least 75%. This really helps the A/C by reducing the heat.
I was about to spray paint the clear flat window white, but thought I would try the "GILA" platinum film first.
Sure glad I tried the film first

We bought Solar Door Window/Vent Covers from Camping World for the bedroom door as well as the shower skylight and they keep the heat and light out. It's held up with velcro/sticky tape and can be removed easily.

Cut your Shower heat by 75%
 I also bought the "WOOLIE" "FUZZY" insulators that push up into the crank open vent in the bedroom and living room. I also have the MAXX-AIR II's
on all the crank up vents.
Someone ask about the film being applied to all the windows, I'm sure it would work. You can see through the film from the inside as if nothing was there. But when you look at the film from the outside, it has a mirror appearance.

Sid thanks for sharing this information. This is really interesting to us as we just spent Memorial Day weekend camping here in Florida and with temperatures reaching 90+ degrees the bath/shower area felt more like a sauna from the heat let in by the skylight. In reading the Gila product website, Gila Films: Do-it-Yourself Automotive Tinting and Residential Window Films, there are two products: residential and automotive. Which one did you use? I ask because under the installation do's and don'ts of the residential version it specifically mentions not to use on plastic or plexiglass (which is what the skylight is made of). This may be just lawyers talking so if you had success installing it I would go for it too. Again thanks for sharing.

Keeping the shower cool with film
I also read the "DO NOT USE ON PLASTIC"  I think the point they are trying to make is, IF you try to remove the film later on it would be impossible. So the cure to that is do not remove it or go to Lowe's or Home Depot, purchase a new piece of plastic. I was able to pop my plastic off 1/2 the way around the edge. Super glued it back.
Oh well, the cure is worth a piece of plastic if it does not work 
FRANKM, like you I spent 10 days in Tampa in the hot Florida sun in 90° + heat. I had plenty of time to think about what to do to get rid of some of the heat and improve the A/C system.
It is amazing how hot the black window frames get on the inside from the sun. I have also come up with a special cover for the windows just in case there is no shade. It is a white Vinyl on one side a a soft fuzzy bonded material on the other side. It came from JOANN's fabrics. I used
sticky Velcro hook material above the day-night blinds, sticking the Velcro to the wall. The large window on the rear is hung on six cup hooks. When parked in the shade, I do not use the material. By the way the fuzzy side faces outside but mounted on the inside of the blind not between the window and blind.

Absolutely!
This last trip we were fortunate to be on an east-west site so none of the TT windows (other than the skylight)had direct sun exposure, but this will not always be the case.
Will head over to Lowes and get a roll. Again thanks for sharing.

Like this? Factory on the left and "mirror" tinted on the right! It it totally mirrored during the day but you can see straight into the camper at night. I found that inside the trailer during the day is still quite bright (vs. using limo tint and such).
