Cutting a hole through corian

I want to add a water filter with dispenser to my kitchen sink. My counter top is corian. I need to drill a hole through the corian to install the faucet. It look fairly simple. Has anyone done this and/or ran into any issues?

Corian is a plastic composite. It can be drilled, routed and sawed. A forstner bit will work but drill slow to avoid building up heat. Those bits also come in a variety of sizes that will work for a your sink fixtures.

X2 and also the caution about over speeding the bit.
Corian will burn (brown) if overheated.

When I work in a counter top and cabinet shop we always used paddle bits for straight holes like your wanting. Just use a new bit and don't let the shreds fill the hole as your drilling. If at all possible have a shop-vac running to keep it clear.

Hole saw works fine also, run slow, drip water, be patient. Piece of cake. Works on real granite also.

Hole saw is your best best, done it several times on home counter top. Didn't use any water/lubricant, just slow steady speed and light pressure.

Why is your sink mounted so far up the wall?

Thanks! I'm planning to do the same thing when I get a "round-to-it"!
