Dehumidifier

I live in SE Florida and it can get pretty hot and humid. I was wondering if investing in a dehumidifier to help remove the moisture and prevent the ac from icing up is something anyone has tried?

We keep a fiver at Melbourne Beach, with one running when we are not there. When we are there we also let it run just help the AC's out, however, never had them freeze prior to adding the dehumidifier.

How do you drain it when you're not there? What size did you get?

Very old 25 quart, keep it in the shower when not there, no bucket, leaving the grey tank valve open. When we arrive, we bring it down next to the kitchen island and put the drain bucket back on. Even with two AC's running, we still have to empty it once a day. It is located near the entry door and is the first to pickup the incoming moisture.

We also keep one in a Class C in our backyard in South Carolina, 30 quart, bucket drain only, empty once a week, usually not full.
