Understood. Mine is wide open so it wasn't a problem. I'd like to make one more for other stuff like the carpet and awning pull.

I've thought about building another one and if I can roll the awning mat up small enough to fit in the 5x5 fence post it would make a great place to store it.

Finished my install (finally) this morning. All went well, and it seems very secure. Will post photos in an album soon.

I used 5" round perforated sewer pipe and made 2 storage tubes with screw in caps.

This is a pic of the tubing I used to do mine. I also put two 6" round pipes under it to hold my awning poles, fishing rods and such.

Looks so much easier than bending steel plate to exactly the right shape. Wish I'd thought of that
Oh well, done now and seems very secure

I had a 6" PVC pipe under the last RV for the sewer hose storage, but I like the fence post better.

I did mine on the Lexington like Golfmedik, very easy and work great, however what I did different was to have the screws too long extending down. I like the way he did his, great job.

The perforated pipe is a good idea.

My approach to attachment was simple. I didn't have to work around gas lines, which made it easy. I used self-tapping screws to attach galvanized 90° inside corner brackets. Seeing how randomly the manufacturer screwed thing too the frame, I'm not concerned about weakening it with a couple more.
I used two angles at each end of the pipe, both facing toward the outside of the trailer. Before attaching, I bent the end of one arm up 45°.
The brackets themselves sit on the flange of the I-beam. The screws bear little weight - they only keep the bracket in position. The frame bears the weight, what little there is.
After attaching the angles I used band clamps to hang the pipe on the brackets. The brackets being already I place, it was an easy task to hang it myself, with nothing extra needed to hold it in place while I finalized attachment.
As a backup I have a heavy-duty zip tie threaded around the pipe and through a hole that already existed in the frame.
I hope others may find this useful. I can take pics if that's of any value.
