Dimmer for led lights?

Has anyone retrofitted a dimmer switch to led lighting in their rv? I have a xlr380 amp I'd like to be able to dim reading lights above bed as well as the living room lights. I've found dimmer switches on ebay as well as through Google but would like to see if anyone has done it before I venture in and try this.

You should not post the same in two places.

You can't make things idiot proof, you can only make them idiot resistant.

Thanks for the constructive reply filthy beast.

I did search for threads on led dimmer. I had hoped someone would say this will many different types of wiring. Are the lights in these campers individual grounded with hot wire only running to them? Seems like a lot of dimmer require two wire install

led dimmer

A dimmer for an LED light has to be specifically built for LEDs. You cannot use a standard incandescent light dimmer switch. They will not work.

LoL. I have a couple of dimmers that I added. Cheapo from eBay or Amazon, as I added them as I needed them. All 3 are the RF type, not infra-red, as IR needs line of sight. I got the kind with memory. I put the receiver either inside the fixture itself, or behind, in the wall or ceiling. Put the fob controller where I need to use it. That way, just the lights that needed dimming while on a common lighting circuit can be dimmed. One is just a dimmer with no remote, hard wired. added a switch into my bedroom wall instead of reaching 1/2 way across the bed every time I entered the bedroom. I will change that to a wireless someday, so I don't have to get out of bed to turn off the lights! Plus, that would have saved me fishing a wire thru the ceiling and down the wall.

Ps. I used one of those 12.00 mini usb cameras connected to my smart phone and taped to the fish tape to get the wires in place. Used it to wire the remote for my fantastic fan as well. Those things are awesome, and cheap! I got the one with about 20' of wire.
