Dinette cushions and board movement

We were out for an extended trip these past few weeks and found our dinette seat cushions and boards shifted out of place during travel. Our dealer suggested I screw down the boards to the dinette frame. Although we have access through either a cupboard or a drawer under the seats, we have found there is much more room for storage of items under the seats. We therefore would like access from above. has anyone made modifications which will help with this problem?

My boards don't move. I would think you could use some Velcro to hold it in place.

As for the cushions my wife placed some rubber mats that you would place under a rug to hold it in place, under the cushions. They look like rubber netting. You can get them at Wal-Mart, Lowe's, etc...

If the board is sitting properly I wouldn't think it would move. My boards fit into the frame but it would be easy enough to have it tilted up on the edge. I also use the rubber netting Road-King mentioned. It seems to help but my cushions still move a little but less than without it.

use two small strips of velcro under each end of the wood to the seat frame and then add a large strip under the rear of the cushion and the wood. this will first stop the wood from moving but with a light lift allow access to the storage and second stop the cushion from sliding out every time some sits down or gets up. had my dinette set up like that for years in my rockwood before i upgraded this year to a silverback with the free standing dinette.
