Dish to front TV conection

We have a Rockwood 2604WS and I was wondering if anyone has ever connected the DVD player to front Bedroom TV. I was also hoping to connect Dish box to front TV. My plan is to use a couple of HDMI splitters and long cables. I was wondering if anyone had tried this or has a better Idea. On a separate note does anyone know if you can mount a Dish box on its side.

I use an HDMI transmitter/receiver pair, like this
Wireless HD Video Kit ? Gen 2, MyWirelessTV 2
The transmitter can directly feed an attached tv. and wirelessly feed a remote one. Works well. Available at a number of on-line sites.

Cheapest way is with a RF modulator. Not HD but looks OK on small TV. Can use existing wiring.
