DIY YouTube Video: Add Bluetooth for Less Than $20
Here is a Diy Video I made. Our 2016 261BHXL did not come equipped with bluetooth and After our 6th Camping Adventure this year I knew it was time to update the Audio Capabilities with out spending a fortune or hacking a car stereo into place. AM/FM is Boring, I hate Commercials and We dont own CD's any more. So Here is what I came up with. Now we can stream our music from inside or outside the camper.
The bluetooth Module can be purchased on ebay for about $6
The 12v to 5v Module can be purchased on ebay for about $5
The extra cables can be purchased locally.

Looks like a nice, simple mod, rfenters. Thanks.
Please post a list of parts needed and links to where you got the parts on eBay so others can do the mod.

Nice install. I do wish our camper had that feature.
I think I missed it, but what was the reason for adding the switch? Could you not leave the bluetooth on at all times?

Looks great and would appreciate a link to the items, I have had no luck trying to find them on e-bay.

Yes you could have. I mounted the switch under the cabinet in the corner so you cant see it.
The main reason I did this was because when its summer here in the south and the ac is constantly running you can barely hear the tv over the ac because they are so close in this model. So I used a Y cable and ran my tv audio output to the aux input also. This lets us use the speakers above the couch while the ac is running to hear. Here is that video. Sorry I didnt post that. I used the switch so I wouldnt have any interference between either device while each one wasnt running. Hope that makes since.

thats one way of doing it, I just didnt want anything hanging off the front of my stereo, and by it being installed there is no way of loosing it.

Would work ok to plug into the front 3.5mm audio port (if equipped) but wouldn't take the place of the OP's wired unit for a permanent install.

For infrequent use it would solve a problem cheaply. Most players also have a USB port(s) that could be used to power and charge it even while being used.

Nice clean setup and great video. Bluetooth is a must for me for playing music inside or out. A permanent solution like this is a great way to eliminate wires and plugs hanging out of the front of the unit where they can get bumped into and damage the unit.

Just wondering, how much loss of quality do you get with the Bluetooth unit vs direct plugin?

None on my Bluetooth devices.
Love my Bluetooth headphones, especially when camping. That way I can have the music loud without disturbing neighbors.
Eliminates the need for outside speakers.
