Dometic LCD Thermostat - Honeywell upgrade?

Hello All,

No, not another thread on how to install a Honeywell thermostat on a basic setup, I have a situation here! I've installed digital thermostats on our last 2 TT's, but this one through me for loop.

2011 FR Surveyor SP275

Dometic LCD Thermostat:


The thermostat has 3 wires, red 12+, white 12-, and blue wire marked common


using a test light, and crossing the red and white wires, they have constant power regardless if the system is dormant or a system is running.

I traced the wires to the A/C unit where the control box is at. You can see the red/white/blue wires in the brown loom on the left of the photo. At the upper -middle of the pic, you can see a second brown loom w/ red/white wires: they go back to the furnace.



The wiring diagram for the control unit is located on the lid:



Is there anyway to replace the dometic LCD thermostat? I just can't believe it doesn't show the current temp!!!!

Any advice is appreciated.

In the manual it states:

"TO display the Inside Temperature, the Single Zone LCD thermostat must be in the Off Mode. Press either the “+” or “―” button to display the Inside Temperature."

It does not have a continous inside temp display, but that would be a nice feature. I replaced the stock T-stat in our previous 2 campers with a Hunter Programmable and I was very happy with the mod.

have you replaced a dometic LCD stat before, like mine?

Found some info for you to read. Looks like this mod is a no go for the type of thermostat...

No, sorry, neither of my previous campers had a Dometic T-stat.
