Yeah, I have no doubts a ceramic heater is going to work better. And I have such a heater in the trailer as well. I just really like the idea of electric heat where I don't have to worry about counter space, and where that heater is stored when we need it. (Our biggest storage area is only accessable by lifting the main bed.) The other thing is we often camp with our 3 and 4 year old nephews; so I also don't have to worry about them knocking it over and/or them getting burned. I just forsee them watching a DVD inside while the adults sit around the fire.
The other thing I'm looking at is the size of my trailer. I'm under 100 square feet in there; especially once you factor out the space the counters, fridge, etc take up. I know that my non-ceramic portable heater will still heat the trailer on low; so this should still have an impact.
I had my trailer into the dealer yesterday; and they ordered the part for me. Their price was a little more than some of the online prices; but once you account for shipping, possible duty coming into Canada- it was in the ballpark. Their price was $85 CDN; and the best I could have gotten it here for myself was around $75.
I just want to thank everybody for their input; both the positives and the negatives. It really was a big help; and with being new to owning a TT- I can use all the help I can get.
