Door window switchout

Has anyone replaced a window in his trailer entry door with one that opens?

I have never even seen one. The glass would have to be framed in, then it wouldn't fit. t
The glass is only sandwiched in between the out side frame and inside. I guess you could buy one framed in already but it would still have to be the thickness of the door with the the outside trim and inside with new trim. Probably better and cheaper to just open the door and use the screen.

I've never seen that one before. Does it have a screen on the outside, too?

I installed this same window on my last travel trailer. It was a piece of cake to install.

Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't the screen door prevent being able to pass anything through the exterior door window?

Not sure what you are asking, air will pass thru just fine. That was the point of the install so we could get some airflow thru the bedroom while towing on hot days.

The glass opens from the outside? How does that affect security? What's to stop a bad guy from sliding the window up then unlocking the door from the inside?
Thanks

Mike

No. It opens and latches from the inside. Then the screen door is latched to the entry door (as always) before shutting the door.

Thanks. That's what I would've figured. Somebody else said the screen is on the inside though. So the screen must raise to allow access to the glass?

Mike

The window has its own screen, separate from the door. And it will open with the window if wanted. But it does not line up with the screen door opening.
