Purchase child proof drawer latches at most any hardware store. Cheap and works like a charm.

Posted my solution a while ago ( back in 2012):
Drawer latch for travel
Works great! Drawers stay shut while traveling, easy to disengage at camp. Almost three years now since I made this mod.

thats a real nice latch. this bulldog is not quite as nice but cheaper and an easy install
