Drawers won't stay closed
I have a couple drawers that won't stay closed on the road. What are some contraption ideas to keep them shut? I didn't see any type of adjustment on the rails.

Before you look at contraptions to keep them closed, please look to see what/why is causing it. While driving down the road in a brand new m/h, my drawers under the dining seats opened up. The reason was the carpeting under rollers was binding causing drawer to not close tightly. All drawers will close but the latches or what's causing it just may need readjusting.

You didn't indicate what type of RV you're talking about, but I don't think it matters. We had similar problems with several of the drawers in our fifth wheel. Found some stick on baby locks at Baby's R Us and haven't had a problem since

I assume they are equipped with the standard locking system. Those type of catches are rated in pounds of pull to open. I believe they are 3#, 5# and 10# pull ratings. You either have a faulty 3# pull, or the interior movement in your RV is such that you need to jump to a 5# pull, on the drawers in question. Just sayin'

One of my nightstand drawers likes to pop open. Hasn't been a real problem since it's a small drawer. Thought about putting a magnetic catch on there.
Someday.

I use this on the dresser and the bed pushes up against it. I wrap a pillow case to prevent rubbing. Too lazy to buy felt and wrap it. If I moved the camper a lot I would.

I have two under counter kitchen drawers that seemed to always open. Solution was to slide a yardstick through the handles thereby forcing both drawers to open at the same time. No problems since using the yard stick.

Drawers won't stay closed
I just worked on all of mine. If you have drawer catches like the one pictured, you will need to open up the triangle shaped section for a better grip or move it to where it's going in and being gripped by the rollers. I inserted a flat head screw driver and opened them up. Two of my drawers were off by 2 inches not catching at all.... [emoji35]

This type of catch will hold better than a magnetic catch for this application.

Agree - it's holding good now. Will check after this weekend to see how it really did. Don't like to find my bottle of scotch on the floor [emoji6]

I had several drawers in kitchen and bedroom come flying out on the 6th wheel. The bracket actually broke the wooden vertical member.
I had new latches installed and no problem now.

Doors/drawers that open on the road are especially troublesome when they can get hooked by a slide as it's extended. I tore a pantry door off the hinges with the slide. A friend tore off a door pull and the trim on the slide. My wife found "surface bolts" at Home Depot. They look good and are relatively easy to install. About $5 each.

Thanks for this! This is absolutely the only issue we've had with our new 2016 Roo and its been driving me nuts. Wasn't going to drive an hour to the dealer and have the Roo out of commission for who knows how long just for this. I was going to wait for the end of camping season to bring it back. Now maybe I can fix it myself.

We had the drawer under the stove come open on the trip home in April.
finally I saw the problem that was not easy to see. Both of the drawer guides that are on the cabinet had a broken piece that held the drawer lock and when you opened we had to lift up and pull out. That was an easy cheap fix.

Thanks, I'll look at them this weekend. Sorry, they are the smaller kitchen cabinets for towels and silverware. I need them to stay shut. The main culprit is close to my ATV's, but the Harley is going in there next trip and that drawer will be sitting on the side of the highway if it opens and dings up that paint.
That one looks like it's installed slightly crooked, so maybe it just needs readjusting. I have a couple others that open too, on the other side under the TV. They are all the smaller drawers.
