Dual Battery Tray / Propane Tank Relocation

Hello,
The factory set-up of our 2007 Flagstaff 27BHSS resulted in the propane tanks sitting so close to the front of the trailer that the tank cover would not sit straight and rubbed against the front wall of the trailer. I was unable to move the tanks furthur forward because of the brackets for the equalizer bars. I was also unable to set the load leveling bars using the bar tool because of the location of the propane tanks. Because of the amount of dry camping that my family and I do we also wanted dual batteries.

I removed the propane tanks and 24 series battery. I made a dual battery tray out of 1.5 inch angle iron that will hold up to a 27 series battery. I purchsed 2 Interstate Optima SC31DM 31 series batteries. I placed the batteries behind the propane tanks. I moved the propane tanks forward resulting in having to add 12 inches to the propane hose that runs to the switch-over valve.

I have posted pictures at WebShots.

GandBL,

Thanks for the photos.
Looks like you did a very good job switching locations of the tanks and batteries.

I'm sure this may help others.

VERY NICE MOD indeed!
Good picks too.

Couple Q's:
1) I didn't see a switch in any of the pics, did you direct wire both batt's?
2) Can you provide more specifics ion the 12" extend of the LP hose?

Thanks!
