Dual hitch adapter for bike rack

As anyone ever used one of these to mount a bike rack to the hitch while towing? Is it safe to use or does the adapter compromise the towing capability?

These compromise quite a bit. Its rated for only 4,000lbs and your TT is twice that weight.

can't use it with a WDH and it rated too low for trailer weight.

I used a similar one when I had my pop-up.
The one's I have (I have two) are not rated high enough to take the weight of my Kanga(Roo).

The first one pictured I used with my mini van and the pop-up - rated at 6000 lbs (custom made)

The second one pictured I uses when I upgraded my TV to a Ram still with my popup - rated at 5000 lbs

you could go with a front hitch receiver.

If I owned a pickup again, I would consider one of these from Yakima to allow full access to the truck bed:

I should qualify that I used the bike rack pictured below with the above hitches.
I removed the lower "L" peace when using the rack with the first hitch.

I really like the set up it just won't work with a WDH.

Or...

What about one of these?

Dakine Pickup Pad: Amazon.com: Sports & Outdoors

I bought one on the recommendation of another FRF member and love it.

I've had a Dakine version for almost 5 years now, and it works great. I often have 6 or 7 bikes on a trip, and I can put them all safely in the back of the truck. Dakine makes a few different versions, plus you can check out the THULE version or the SOFTRIDE version. all are good, and have different features depending on your needs.

Happy Camping!
