Dump Station Sanitation

I don't like reusing and storing rubber gloves for use at the dump station.

Upper left is a perfect place for a box of latex gloves.

Ready for use.

Heh. I saw you post this over on RV.NET where it quickly broke down into the gloves vs. anti-glove groups. Been there, done that here on FRF already so hopefully this thread stays with kudos for a neat install.

Nicely done.

On edit, did you just drill 4 holes and then knot the bungee on the backside?

Correct on the 4 holes. The bungees have a J hook on each end. I just opened them up to get in the holes and then bent them back so they can't be removed.

Nice idea. We just bought a couple hundred pairs of gloves (real cheap) that are in plastic bags so this won't work.

But, question of the day for me is, why is it that most dumping stations never seem to have a garbage can to throw away the dirty gloves? I usually end up tossing them into the back of the truck. Next mod/upgrade might be something to put the dirties into.

Nice install C.B. Myredracer, the CG that my family and I used last year had the same issue...no trash at the dump station. They did provide a dumpster at the edge of the campsite area so I just left my last bag of trash open to put gloves in then tossed it. I do agree however, I would like to see a trash can at the station.

We use disposable gloves as well, throw them in the trash bag after use............
I haven't come up with a good storage place other than in the pull out tray as yet........

Happy Happy Happy........................... Wish spring was a little sooner.....

Just a suggestion . When you run into a campground that doesn't provide a trash can, bite the bullet give them a trash bag possibly tieing onto something at the dump station. They might get the hint when they see the bag filling up.

That's the reason that I never got into RV Net. Too many closed minded people that can't accept that there its more than 1 way that's right to do stuff.

We also appreciate a trash can at the dump station but when one is not
available I sometimes pull my gloves off so they're inside out-
dirty side in- and just gently stuff the balled up gloves into the end
of my dump hose after it's stuffed in the rear bumper.

They stay there until my next dump where odds are there will be a trash
can.
Also since they are balled up dirty side inside I can just put them in the
back seat/floor of my truck as I climb back in and toss them when
we get home or to the next stop.

I'd bet there are numerous reasons. First there is the cost and labor of emptying the cans. Second, I'll bet they would get all manner of unsavory items in those cans! It could be a health issue.
