Easier 50amp cord use

Looking for advice. Have a 2011 Georgetown 337. Hate pulling the shore cord out through the access hole. Anybody cut it off, put a end on it. Install a surge protector and outlet in the compartment. Then pull just 2 feet through.

Furrion and Marinco both make conversion kits to convert the pull out cords to a twist lock detachable cord. Camping World is discontinuing the Furrion kits and my local store had them on clearance for $40 a couple of weeks ago.
