Easy Way to Remove Caulking on Roof...?

Hello to All:

I bought one of those Cyclone Sewer Vent--they seem like a good idea--but when I went to try and remove the original caulking / sealant to remove my OEM vent cap it seemed like it also wanted to pull up the rubber roof.

I didn't go too far because the last thing I want to do is tear the rubber roof!

Any ideas on how best to remove the caulking without damaging the roof?

Heat gun and plastic scraper

Thanks, Donniedu....I thought about maybe even slicing the caulking into small "sections" to heat up and remove with a scraper might work too.

X2 on the heat gun, hair dryer if nothing else, and plastic scraper

I installed a Cyclone Vent years ago and Simply removed the Top Cap of the OE vent,then placed the round supplied flange cover over the pipe and "Inserted a PVC pipe Inside as a connector,glue on the Cyclone side,small screw on vent stack"! Did NOT disturb OE seal or Roof Caulking,it Never leaked,and could be removed by the one small screw! Youroo!!

Thanks, All, for the great replies--I may just give your solution a try, youroo! That seems pretty straight-forward and I would love to not have to disturb the OE caulking.

I recently re sealed all my roof vents. I thoroughly cleaned the old sealant with naphtha and applied new sealant ove the old overlapping on to the roof material. It adhered well and was much easier and less risk to the roof. I resealed the front cap joint a year ago using this approach and it is holding up well so far.
