EMS-HW50C install
Just finished installation. After looking at different locations decided on shelf above power panel. Am going to build a shelf with a front panel to hide unit. Should I be concerned about heat build up from the unit.

The EMS has no reason to build up heat that I know of myself. Mine is behind my fuse panel in the back wardrobe closet.

I asked this question on another thread, however do you hear a slight hum from your unit when plugged in? Thanks

Yes a slight hum.Was thinking about insulating the space when I make a cover. That's why I wondered about heat.

The hum is normal comes from contactor which conducts power till opened by a fault. You can ventilate the shelf with holes top and bottom kept out of sight.

I didn't secure EMS to anything. It's just on the floor in the compartment behind the converter, under the refrigerator. The 10-2 wire is pretty stiff and doesn't let it walk around.
I had the converter out today installing a new DC circuit. While I was in there I looked at securing the EMS to the inside wall. I didn't see any way to screw it down. Are there holes inside the case?

Mine has 4 holes around the base. 2 are kind of hidden by the wire clamps.

I'm pretty happy with my installation! The EMS detects power flow at 1 amp, which happens when I power up the television and satellite receiver. The only thing that surprises me is the fact that the remote display flashes constantly, I would have thought one would need to press a button for display to work!

That's the reason I put my display unit in a cabinet. That flashing display would drive me crazy if I could see it all the time. I figure I really only need to look at it if the power is mysteriously off or I want to see my voltage and/or amps, which should not be that often.

Mine is mounted to the front of the power panel near floor level. I was contemplating a mini-project of moving it but, now that you mention the flashing, it may be best to leave it where it is. I can see it when I need to by stooping down.

I put the Progressive display unit next to the battery switch at the entry steps in our Solera S.
